GEMSTONE COMPATIBILITY
Only gemstones specifically confirmed as suitable for kiln firing should be embedded before firing. Some laboratory-created cubic zirconia and pre-tested natural stones may be suitable. Gemstones without confirmed heat resistance should be added after firing.
STORAGE
Open the package only when ready to work with the clay. Return unused clay and offcuts to the airtight packaging immediately. For longer storage, keep the sealed package inside an airtight container to prevent the material from drying out.
FIRING
This clay requires a simple two-step kiln firing process.
- Place the completely dry piece on a stainless-steel mesh in a cold kiln. Heat to 500°C and hold for 15 minutes. Allow it to cool.
- Place the piece in a closed steel container, fully covered with activated carbon. Fire in a preheated kiln at 770°C for 120 minutes, then allow it to cool inside the kiln.
A temperature-controlled kiln is required. This clay cannot be fired with a torch or in a household oven.
